About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Office Administrator to join our team at YRKI.

This is a full-time ongoing position working Monday to Friday.  Job sharing arrangements will be considered.  This is an office-based role located at YRKI Head Office in Lilydale and travel to other YRKI locations as required.

What will you do?

The Office Administrator is a key role at YRKI.  This role supports both Head Office and all 21 Kinders, with a range of responsibilities including being the first point of contact for Head Office, managing day to day office needs such as stationery, kitchen needs, creating and managing a team calendar of key deliverables and setting up and monitoring electronic record keeping.

This role is also expected to identify, consider and implement as part of their role, any opportunities for continuous improvement across YRKI administration in order to improve the operational efficiency of YRKI and PAG policy and practical requirements.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing of office-related tasks in a calm, coordinated manner
  • Proven strength and love of organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to engage with and maintain positive relations with a large range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure with diverse, dispersed teams and manage schedules to develop and deliver shared initiatives and projects.
  • Practical and proactive in your approach to your work.
  • Willingness to be a warm and enthusiastic team player who is always endeavouring to be a positive force within an inclusive workplace environment and takes the initiative
  • You must also have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Card and a police check.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Early Learning Teacher, Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor to join our team at Belgrave Preschool. 

This is an ongoing position working:

  • The hours include 4 session days per week, 20 hours contact time +   10 hours non-contact time, and an additional 1 hour for EL/NS.  Total of 31 hours per week.  
  • Working on Monday Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

What will you do?

The Early Childhood Teacher, Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor will:

  • be responsible for the operation of the Early Childhood Program. The teacher will provide leadership while working as a member of a cooperative team.
  • Undertake all responsibilities and activities associated with being a Nominated Supervisor, and act within the requirements of that position, the National Law and Regulations 
  • Develop a high-quality educational program for 3 and/or 4-year-old kinder program in consultation with families, children, Educators
  • Key functions include the development of a high-quality developmentally appropriate, educational program for children with a commitment to the active involvement of families and the local community. 
  • The program is to be developed in consultation with YRKI and the parents of the children attending.
  • The Early Childhood teacher will ensure that the kindergarten meets the DET Victorian Kindergarten Policy, Procedures, and Funding Criteria requirements, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and the policies and procedures of YRKI. 
  • Work in accordance with the standards outlined in the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, the Victorian Institute (VIT) Code of conduct and YRKI’s Code of Conduct and Child Safety Code of Conduct.

 Essential

  • Qualifications suitable for an early childhood teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law. Education and Care Services National Regulations and the DET Kindergarten Funding Guide
  • Be registered as an Early Childhood Teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, and continue to renew/maintain the registration during the course of employment
  • Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor and with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the service in accordance with the Regulations as required 
  • In accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and service policies hold a current 

    • approved first aid qualification, 

    • approved anaphylaxis management qualification and 

    • approved emergency asthma management qualification,
