Yarra Ranges Kindergartens Inc (YRKI) is a Department of Education and Training (DET) recognised Early Years Manager. We currently operate  21 preschools in the Yarra Ranges & Knox City  Council areas.  Every one of our kinders partners strongly with parents and the broader local community ensuring that the individual flavour of each our kindergarten is maintained. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking two motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate Kindergarten Team Leaders to join us, working closely with our Senior Operations Manager.

The purpose of the Kinder Team Leader roles have been created to support kindergarten staff during an unprecedent time of change in the early years space.  They will achieve this by strengthening and aligning processes and procedures to streamline and alleviate the administration burden for staff.

These roles will be based in the centres to be able to provide on-the-spot guidance and support for all areas of focus, from Pedagogical direction through to assisting with reporting requirements. The Team Leaders will also support the Senior Operation Manager in all aspects of Early Years Operational Management.   

ABOUT THE POSITION  

This dynamic role has a range of responsibilities including:

  • Enhance outcomes for children via support for Teachers and Educators 
  • Assist in streamlining and strengthening processes to reduce administrative workload burden for Teachers and Educators 
  • Ensure each Kindergarten is always compliant with National law and regulations and is actively working within Quality Improvement Plans  
  • Facilitate and drive a positive team culture, of collaboration and critical reflection, innovation, and sustainability
  • Support a review of processes and procedures and will drive the streamlining of processes and procedures
  • Support liaisons between the Kindergartens YRKI Head Office to share knowledge, alleviate pressure points and increase employee satisfaction.  These roles will focus on motivating staff to achieve the best learning outcomes for children possible
  • Partner with kindergartens to enhance our presence in the community. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Specialist skills and knowledge 

  • Have a sound understanding of the VEYLDF and be able to demonstrate an ability to work in accordance with the eight practice principles 
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the National Quality Framework with reference to national quality standards areas 1 and 5 
  • Have a strong understanding of contemporary curriculum approaches, specifically a thorough knowledge of the approved curriculum frameworks  
  • Support the teacher/educator to provide environments and opportunities which promote the child’s growth and development for any of the developmental domains, (language and literacy, health and physical development, approaches to learning, social emotional development, drama and arts) 
  • Ability to work with early childhood Teachers and Educators in the development of SRF plans by working together to gathering and tracking data in accordance with an identified evaluation plan

Interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate  
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional.  
  • Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills.  
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of information  

Other job requirements 

  • Qualification in Early Childhood Teacher/Diploma as approved by ACECQA in accordance with the Regulations  
  • Experience working in education and care services  
  • Leadership experience 
  • A current WWCC or VIT
  • A current Victorian Driver’s License.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate Early Childhood Coach Coordinator to join us, working closely with our Senior Operations Manager.

The purpose of the Early Childhood Coach Coordinator role is to provide consultation and advice on School Readiness Funding (SRF) plans and medium to long term strategies for future plans, and application of learning for educators needing guidance and coaching.  

The Early Childhood Coach Coordinator role has also been developed to coach, mentor, and supports the development and application of skills and knowledge gained from SRF to support educators to implement and embed new approaches and strategies.

The Coach will be based at across identified kindergartens reflecting higher educational disadvantage, with limited coaching support on site.   

ABOUT THE POSITION  

This dynamic role has a range of objectives including:

  • Address educational disadvantages for our families and their children, achieving this by ensuring our staff team is supported to continue to learn, develop and grow with a focus on the SRF priority areas of Communication, Well-being and Access, and Inclusion.
  • Provide educational leadership and support across YRKI-identified centres 
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to educators to fulfill their School Readiness Goals for themselves, the children, and the kinder community and service
  • Support and guide the teaching staff at each centre in the development and implementation of a high quality educational program, based on SRF goals in line with an approved curriculum framework that promotes each child’s learning across five learning outcomes.  
  • Operate in an ethical, professional manner and support the centres and Senior Operational Manager to ensure that our service meets all service requirements 
  • Motivate other educators at the service to achieve the best learning outcomes for children.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the National Quality Framework with particular reference to national quality standards areas 1 and 5
  • Have a strong understanding of contemporary curriculum approaches, specifically a thorough knowledge of the approved curriculum frameworks 
  • Ability to coach and mentor early childhood Teachers and Educators in the development of a robust SRF plan by gathering and tracking data in accordance with an identified evaluation plan
  • Ability to facilitate professional discussions and lead and support critical reflection in all aspects of program delivery across the service in consultation with relevant stakeholders 
  • The ability to plan, work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

 Interpersonal skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively and provide developmental coaching feedback
  • Experience in a leadership role or senior advisor role
  • Ability to challenge and support early childhood educators to improve their approach to teaching children 
  • Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of information. 

Other job requirements
