NEW POLICY FOR COVID
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, strict rules re the health of children and staff will apply.
- Children attending kindergarten will be temperature tested before being allowed to enter the preschool. Temperatures of 37.5 and above will be considered a fever, and parents will be asked to take children home. We ask that parents do not give Panadol or Ibuprofen at home before sessions for the purposes of suppressing fever.
- If a child who attends kindergarten displays symptoms as listed in Dept of Education advice below, parents will be phoned to collect them. Parents must ensure that their phones are turned on and checked regularly when children are at kindergarten.
- Staff will follow the same procedures as children re daily temperature testing and the observation of symptoms. Staff will not attend the centre if unwell, and will be tested for Covid-19 if showing symptoms.
Advice from Department of Education:
Please keep your child home if they are displaying any of the following symptoms:
- Chills or sweats
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Runny nose
- Loss of sense of smell or taste
In certain circumstances headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may also be considered.
If your child is displaying any of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, they should get tested. Seek advice from a healthcare professional who can advise on next steps.
